These tender almond flour donuts look like mini King Cakes and have a cinnamon ribbon in the center. Ideal for Mardi Gras!
Ingredient
Donut Batter– ⅓ cup sour cream or greek yogurt– 2 large egg– ⅓ cup Swerve Granular– 3 tablespoon water– ½ teaspoon vanilla extract– 1 ¾ cup almond flour– ¼ cup unflavoured whey protein– 1 teaspoon baking powder– 1 teaspoon cinnamon– ¼ teaspoon salt

Filling with cinnamon
Mix the melted butter, brown sugar replacement, and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Donuts
Pre-heat the oven to 325F and grease a donut pan. Grease 8 wells for 8 regular donuts. Consider working in batches if your pan only holds 6 wells.

Blend sour cream, eggs, sweetener, water, and vanilla extract in a blender or food processor. Blend almond flour, protein powder, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.

Fill each donut well with batter to cover the bottom. Pour some cinnamon filling over each and top with the remaining batter.

Bake 12–22 minutes until golden brown and firm. Remove and cool 15 minutes in pan. Transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.

Glaze and Decorate
Mix powdered sweetener, cream, and lemon juice in a small bowl. Spread on donut tops. A teaspoon or two of water thins thick glaze.Sprinkle three sanding "sugar" colors alternately.
