Offering locally grown and produced products year-round to our community.
Food purchasing habits have changed. Consumers are far more conscious now of where their food is sourced and how many people touch it before they buy it. As a result, people look forward to shopping at local markets, where they have the opportunity to meet the growers and producers of food items.
The Mill River Marketplace opened in November 2020, addresses these interests of the community. As an indoor market, it is a place to visit on weekends, no matter the weather, to find the unique foods produced by local food artisans and growers. These products are typically produced in small batches and are not available at a local supermarket.
Visit the Mill River Marketplace to purchase
- Locally produced pastries, breads, honey, granola, candies, and other unique foods
- Locally grown sweet corn and other produce, flash-frozen at the height of the season
- Locally produced soaps and lotions
- Locally roasted coffee
- Locally produced ice cream delights
You will likely have an opportunity to speak directly to the individual who made or grew the food.
Mill River Marketplace is conveniently located in the same building as the Mill River Cookery, the Mill River School, and Mill River Harvest. Many of the food items sold are produced on-site by members of the Mill River Cookery and Mill River Harvest. Can’t get any fresher than that!
When the Mill River Marketplace is not being used to sell food items, the facility is used to offer workshops, entrepreneurial classes, and can be rented for special events.
